Michael S. Burg selected to The American Trial Lawyers Association Executive Committee

Burg has been selected to serve on the 2009 Executive Committee for The American Trial Lawyers Association. Please join us in congratulating him. Mr. Burg was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1976 and founded Burg Simpson in 1977.

Mr. Burg is recognized as one of the top trial lawyers in the nation; having tried more than 150 jury trials. As lead counsel, he has successfully obtained over a dozen multi-million dollar jury verdicts in numerous states including two verdicts in excess of $5 million, and one verdict in excess of $4.5 million. Mr. Burg has held important leadership positions in several national Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) actions resulting in successful settlements in an aggregate amount in excess of a billion dollars. Mr. Burg's practice is focused on large, complex litigation, commercial cases, professional malpractice, catastrophic injuries, and mass tort litigation.

Mr. Burg was appointed to serve as lead counsel in the Ortho Evra MDL by the Honorable David Katz, Federal Judge in the Northern District of Ohio. He was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Zyprexa MDL by the Honorable Jack Weinstein, Federal District Court of the Eastern District of New York and to the State Liaison Committee in the Vioxx MDL Litigation by the Honorable Eldon Fallon, Eastern District of Louisiana. Mr. Burg is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of American and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) as well as a participating faculty member in the ABOTA Masters Program in Denver, Nashville, Des Moines and Kansas City. Mr. Burg often lectures at the national level on a wide variety of litigation topics for Mealey's and the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Mass Torts Made Perfect and Torts Made Perfect. Michael S. Burg holds an "AV" rating for Martindale Hubbell given by his peers for quality of legal work, professionalism and ethics.
