LAS VEGAS, NV, June 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Saturday, June 19, Las Vegas Harley-Davidson, located on 2605 South Eastern Avenue, will be the venue for a Pet Adoption Day. Nine Clark County pet rescue centers will use the event to bring awareness to the increasing need to find homes for the hundreds of abandoned pets throughout Las Vegas' metropolitan area.
"We were saddened to learn that 30,000 cats and dogs were euthanized in Las Vegas in 2009. Las Vegas Harley is extremely community-minded and the Pet Adoption Day is another way for us to give back to the community." According to event coordinator, Randy Compton.
Upon learning of the numbers of abandoned pets in Las Vegas due to loss of employment and foreclosures, Compton spoke with several pet rescue centers to determine if there was an interest in using Harley-Davidson for a one-day event. "The centers immediately jumped on board; from one phone call, we now have nine centers bringing adoptable pets to our store." Compton continued.
The event runs from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 19 and is open to the public. Drawings will be held throughout the day and Individuals making donations will be eligible for an assortment of door prizes.
"All funds raised during the Pet Adoption Day will be divided equally among the nine participating rescue centers. And, if you're thinking of getting a pet, the Pet Adoption Day is a great time to find one and support a much needed cause," Compton said.
